How to Create a Database in Your cPanel Account

To establish a functional database, you must undertake three essential steps: creating the database itself, generating a user for database access, and linking the user to the database.

Creating the Database

1. Log in to your Hosting cPanel account. using your cPanel credentials

2. Click on MySQL® Databases.

3. In the “Create New Database” section, input a name for your database, and then proceed to click on “Create Database”.

Creating the User

4 Navigate to the “Add New User” section. Input a username and password, then proceed to click on “Create User”.

Linking the User to the Database

Scroll down to Add User to Database. Under the dropdown box select the appropriate user and database you have created, then click Add.

6. You will now be asked to assign Permissions/Privileges the user can have on the database. Select the ALL PRIVILEGES tick box, then click Make Changes.
